Tiger is a carnivorous animal living in forest. It is the largest of its kind with an average weight of 250kg. These big cats originated in Africa and later on migrated to Asia. It is known for its extraordinary strength making it the most threatening predator in the wild.
They are powerful by all means like hunting distant prey, jumping heights, swimming etc. Unlike other animals they have a diverse diet feeding on deer, antelope, wild boar, buffalo and also birds, fish, rodents, small elephants, rhinos, crocodiles, leopards.
They spend most of their life in solidarity except during breeding season. The male tiger is the dominant one and usually it doesn’t involve itself in raising the cub.
Tiger is the national animal of India. Bengal tiger is the special one of its kind. A male Bengal tiger can eat 21kg of meat at once and kill over 30 buffaloes a year. A roar of a Bengal tiger can be heard from a distance of over 2km.
More than 90% of the tiger population has become extinct because of poaching for its skin, teeth and purposes. Various measures has been taken globally by many organizations to prevent the killing and increase population.
